The CEAA Board of Directors revisited the long term Strategic Plan in a special session while at the AGM and Technical Conference in Calgary. While the salient portions of the previous Plan were not materially altered, there was an effort to make the action items more realistic in terms of the ability of the staff and volunteers to accomplish them in the time frames indicated. The Board members also reviewed the plan to ensure that the initiatives outlined were truly relevant within the one to three year planning period. The Strategic Plan review was led by Mel Wilson, Vice-president (Planning and Governance). Nancy Doucet, the newly elected Secretary, took notes and developed the updated document that was subsequently distributed to the Board members for action. The following main action categories were identified for consideration within the planning period:
A series of work plans have been prepared by Team Leaders in response to the action items outlined in the updated Plan. These will be approved by the Board of Directors at the meeting scheduled for January 29, 2001. President Arnold is anxious that CEAA members be kept informed as to the progress in implementing the Strategic Plan. This will take the form of regular updates in future issues of the Auditorial. In the meantime, your comments on any element of the Plan, will be welcomed. New ideas are required as well as volunteers to assist in the implementation of the action items.
